A native email client for macOS

MacMail is a lightweight Mac app for reading and sending email from Gmail and any IMAP mailbox. It runs on your Mac and talks directly to your mail provider. The optional Mail Agent, if you enable it, sorts new mail on our server with Claude.

Native & fast

Built with Swift and SwiftUI for macOS 14 and later.

Private by design

Mail is fetched directly from your provider. Passwords and tokens stay in the macOS Keychain.

Optional Mail Agent

Turn on Claude-powered sorting: categories, priorities and short summaries as Gmail labels. Off by default.

Several accounts

Gmail via Google Sign-In, plus any IMAP/SMTP mailbox on your own domain.

How MacMail uses your Google account

When you connect Gmail, MacMail asks Google for permission to access your mailbox over IMAP and SMTP (scope https://mail.google.com/) and for your email address and name. This is used only to show your mail, search it, mark messages as read, send the messages you write and — if you enable the Mail Agent — label new messages. See the Privacy Policy for details.
